This is a nice playing Saxquest Core 7* hard rubber for tenor saxophone. The piece was stamped a 7* but measures closer to an 8 at .108”. It is in great shape showing a normal amount of cosmetic play wear and light blemishing. The previous owner of this piece used it with a F. Louis Ultimate ligature. You can see the faint lines of indentation along the side of the mouthpiece. The facing profile of the piece is in very nice condition. The table does show some cosmetic character from past reed placement. Its side rails and tip are in very good condition. There is a very hard to see wear spot on the outside of the tip rail.
This piece is a tremendous free blowing player and features a warm and robust sound. The Core” was designed by James Bunte. Its aptly named as its core sound is what sets this piece apart from all others. Moving slightly on the darker side of the sound spectrum, it harbors all of the harmonic complexity of the Great Neck era hard rubber Brilharts blended with the ease of play and clear projection of a classic Link.
