Product ID: 282677Conn26M
This is a gorgeous original lacquer Conn 26M “Connqueror” series alto sax, serial number 282677, with the sought-after “VIII” stamping. You don't see these horns in this nice of condition ever. Considered by many to be the best model ever produced by Conn, this is a true world class specimen for players and collectors alike.
The original lacquer on this alto shows only minor wear on the usual touch points, and is a solid 95+% intact. There are absolutely no dents or resolders to the sax anywhere, no previous repairs to be found. This model features all the bells and whistles of the Conn company at its height: rolled tone holes, sterling silver key touches, “naked lady” engraving on the bell, and the original VIII neck, with double socket receiver, underslung octave key, and microtuner mechanism.
This alto came to us on older pads, and as such is currently in our repair shop in line for a complete repad. We'll clean it inside and out, replace all pads and material (using premium firm leather pads with oversized seamless metal resonators), and adjust spring tensions and key heights throughout for an enjoyable playing experience.
Anyone who loves old Conn horns should take a serious look at this 26M. You'd be hard pressed to find a nicer example!
