HELP, I Want One!

Huge Sound for Reasonable Price
This is a late Conn 10M tenor saxophone in gold lacquer and nickel plated keys, serial #891685. The 10M of the 1930s was legendary and continued to be manufactured well into the 70s, eventually dropping rolled tone holes around the 50s. But this horn still has a massive sound even after someone had it relacquered in the past! Featuring a double socket neck, chevron shaped octave key, articulated G#, straight tone holes, left side bell keys, classic 10M left pinky table keys, and single post construction, this horn plays with a beautiful vibrant tone which jazz and rock players seek.

Physically, there is very little wear showing across the whole horn, the neck is showing slight pull-down, and you can find re-solders on a few key guard feet on the bow. This sax came into our shop playing on an older pad job of standard grade leather pads and nylon metal resonators. It could benefit from some basic service work some pads replaced and cleaning in the future. In order to keep the price down on this item we are selling it in as is condition with out adding any additional work.

Sonically, a player will experience a huge vibrant tone, this particular 10M is on the bright side with a crisp clear focused tone from top to bottom. Intonation can be a bit difficult to hone in the upper stacks, but after a decent warm-up and a tuner you will find this horn’s tendencies more manageable.

At this time the horn is outfitted with an extension the neck strap hook. This will allow the for neck strap to be clipped lower on the horn. If undesired this can be removed.
