Product ID: R3268SelmerCT
This is a late 50s vintage Selmer Paris Centered Tone model clarinet in Bb, serial number R3268. This horn was professionally played back in the day but has been sitting for a number of years now. It is currently in our repair shop in line for a complete cleaning and repad, and will ship out in perfect adjustment with all new pads and material.
While the keys have tarnished up over the years, the horn is physically in very good shape. There are no cracks or evident crack repairs to the upper or body joints. The original barrel was swapped at some point to a “newer” Series 9 barrel, which matches well with the instrument. There was a previously repaired (glued) crack in the barrel, and currently a small crack in the bell which we will fill. There's also a small chip in the metal bell ring, as seen in the photos.
This clarinet will be completely disassembled, cleaned, and oiled, and have all new pads and material replaced. We'll adjust spring tensions and key heights throughout, and it will ship in perfect playing condition. These vintage Selmers have a larger bore than what you typically find in newer instruments, and as such it makes for a great jazz instrument, or also an easy blower for sax doublers. Ships in its original case.
