Complete Grafton Plastic Alto Sax with Full Intact Keyguards - Serial # 13554

This is a rare, complete Grafton “plastic” alto sax, serial number 13554. The fabled plastic saxophone is a must-have for any saxophone collection. This one does have a crack in the body tube unfortunately, but the plastic keyguards are intact and in excellent shape with no cracks.

You often find these old Graftons in rough shape, and the keyguards smashed to smithereens. The tube on this horn does have a crack at the top near the neck receiver. The crack ran nearly completely around the tube, and someone did attempt to repair it. No other cracks or previous repairs to the horn. Amazingly, the keyguards show no cracks or previous repairs, though a couple guard screws are missing. We'll remove those guards before shipping and pack them safely so that the sax arrives to you in same condition.

A previous owner did attempt to repad this but, surprise!, it isn't playing very well. Grafton's tend not to; we once spent an obscene amount of time trying to properly restore one. But you can definitely noodle around on it. Ships with original neck in a soft gig bag, which we'll bubble wrap the snot out of during shipping.
