This is a very pretty original lacquer Selmer Paris original lacquer Mark VI tenor sax, serial number 104939. It plays with a warm and very rich resonant quality. The core of the horn is considerably warmer and more free blowing then the late VI digits that Selmer released in the late 60's and early 70's. The smooth and ultra fluid key work on the sax and the incredible response make this tenor an absolute blast to play. Sonic balance, control and projection are quite exceptional on this tenor.
The original lacquer shows off a gorgeous dark color. Its engraving is also in great shape and has a nice clean look across the bell. The body is physically pristine and has never suffered any major dent or solder work. Its bottom bow has never been pushed in and the bell flare is perfect. This saxophone also includes the original Mark VI neck with matching serial number stamp. The neck is in perfect playing condition. At some point it was pulled down slightly but has professionally been brought back to its true position in our shop.
The tenor was recently re-padded by the Saxquest shop using leather Valentino Premium pads and brown plastic resonators. All of the pads are in terriffic codnition. We are also in the process of giving the sax a fresh set-up. It ships out in perfect playing condition. If you are looking for a killin' player with looks to impress you will not want to miss out on this tenor.
