Georgie Auld Martin Magna - Kenosha WI
This is a stunning vintage Martin Magna Tenor Saxophone, serial number 570006. It originally belonged to saxophonist Georgie Auld. Georgie was most known for his work with Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Bunny Berigan and his appearance in the movie New York, New York. The saxophone was sold previously at the Gurneys Jazz auctions. This is the same auction company that sold Charlie Parker's Grafton alto.

This saxophone features the original leather pads with metal resonators, pearl rollers, gold plated springs. The engraving around the bell is in super clean condition. The sax also shows no history of any serious past repairs. It has absolutely no re-solders. The neck is also in original condition and has never been pulled down. The coolest part of the sax is the custom engraving of Georgie Auld's name across the bell flare.

The horn does show just a little bit of past playing. There is a few light surface scratches here and there from the general handling of the instrument but the sax has never seen any major play time. Talk about a great collectors piece! Because of the collectors history behind this instrument we are selling it in original condition. Saxophone does include a letter of authenticity.

The sale of this saxophone does include a letter of providence. Please see pictures.
