This is a great old vintage hard rubber Woodwind “Sparkle-aire” mouthpiece for the tenor sax. Stamped a B4, the facing is all original with tip measuring .055”. While slim by today's standards, it has plenty of room at the tip if you wanted to have it opened later. The mouthpiece has oxidized with time to a lighter brown color, evidence of the quality hard rubber content, but physically it remains in outstanding shape. The only wear of note is a couple teeth scratches on the beak, the rest of the piece is in like-new condition. This mouthpiece plays with a warmer sound for sure and works best with a harder reed.
