This is a very nice vintage Selmer Pairs Soloist Scroll Shank D for tenor sax. The Soloists play with a clear and rounded dark sound. In comparison to Otto Link mouthpieces the Soloist is more focused in its response to air. The body of the mouthpiece is in pristine condition, no major wear a little bit of light oxidation but nothing major. Its facing is in good condition and looks like it has been “trued” up at some point. The facing measures .080”. This is one of the early "short shank" models.
These pieces work great for classic and chamber music. A large number of Jazz tenor players love these pieces when they are looking for darker and very clear sound character.
