This is a nice original lacquer Selmer Paris Mark VI tenor sax, serial number 62308.
While this is not the prettiest horn in the shop right now it does feature original lacquer and is quite a nice player. Projection and flexibility are very exceptional on this instrument. It has immediate response to air flow and a rich and finely centered core sound. The tenor sings out with a crystal clear sonic character. This is a hands down fantastic playing instrument. As expected from any great Selmer this horn handles with ease under the hands allowing for an easy play top to bottom.
The saxophone showcases the original lacquer finish. The sax shows some typical cosmetic play wear but has no history of ever receiving any major repair. Its body tube, bell and bell flare are all in nice original condition. The bow cap is in perfect condition and has never been pushed in. There are a few hard to see dings along the bottom bow that we are currently removing in the Saxquest shop. All of the key guard feet to the bell key guards are in good shape and have never been re-soldered. It does look there has been a small re-solder to the alternate F# key guard. This saxophone does include the original neck. The neck is in very good condition from top to bottom. It looks like there was an extremely minor pull down on it in the past but it has since been brought back to its original position.
This tenor is currently in the Saxquest shop being cleaned and professionally set up by our techs. We are going to go through the horn top to bottom and replace all of the key cork and felt materials. The leather pads and brown plastic resonators are all in fantastic shape and have a ton of life left in them.
It might not be the prettiest five digit we have had in the shop by it plays like you will not believe! This tenor ships out in perfect playing condition in the original brown Selmer latch style case.
