Here's a solid 1964 vintage Selmer Paris Mark VI tenor sax, serial number 119839. This tenor features the more desired American-style engraving and comes with original neck with matching serial number. It has seen a life of playing and is ready for a new owner to keep it going.
Thsi tenor has been to a few bar gigs in its day, but still have plenty to offer to the next player. It was relacquered long ago, and while it has seen a number of past repairs (including the bottom bow guard which is not original), I see no major trauma such as splits or heavy dent repair. The bottom bow has the right curve and the bell flare and bell-to-body brace are straight. The sax has a smattering of minor pings in the tube which we will correct during the course of the repad we are going to do. The original neck too has some minor past dings, but no serious past damage.
This tenor came to us on old pads, so we are going to do this Mark VI up right. We'll disassemble and clean it, removing any dings or dimples, and replace all pads, corks, and felts throughout. After our precise key regulation, it will feel solid and crisp again, with a tight action and fluid feel.
I expect nothing but great things once our work is complete. This is in the right serial number range for players looking for an earlier vintage VI but don't have "5 digit" money. And it is priced to sell! With our $1000 restoration, this will be the only horn you need for years to come.
