Mark VI Tenor 1963
This is a  1963 vintage Selmer Paris Mark VI tenor saxophone, serial number 111856. This saxophone plays with a rich medium warm sound color. Response speed to air flow and key feel are top notch on the tenor. Control and projection are exceptional allowing for maximum flexibility across the entire range of the instrument.

The tenor is in very nice physical condition and does include the original neck with matching serial number stamp.  It was re-lacquered a long time ago with the proper air bake lacquer. The current finish show a nice dark honey tint which is well pared with the crisp floral engraving around the bell. Not the prettiest horn in the shop right now but it really has it where it counts. There is some history of repair on the saxophone around the lower bow and body area. The work was excellently done. Its bow is now in its true rounded shape and there has never been any repari to the bow cap itself. ( see pictures )

The tenor was just freshly re-padded in the Saxquest shop by George Bunk and is now in perfect playing condition. It features all new leather Valentino pads with brown plastic resonators. It also has all new corks, felts and a complete and very through key regulation. The key work on the sax now feels fantastic under the fingers. All the pads are sealing up perfectly down to low Bb.

If you are looking to get into a Mark VI for a great price you will want to check out this 1963 vintage.
