Product ID: 10926SelmerAlto
This is a sweet old 1929 vintage Selmer “New Large Bore” model alto sax in original silver plate, serial number10926. Don't let its current looks fool you, this alto is completely restorable and just needs a knowledgeable repair tech to bring it back to life.
The original silver has tarnished with time and the sax is pretty ugly right now, but there is overall just light finish wear on the usual touch points. Regular old silver polish will make this sax shine up like new. The keywork is all intact with nothing broken, and the body of the sax shows no major past damage or trauma. The original neck is included as well. Current pads are extremely old and rotten, and will need to be replaced. If you have a repair bench at home and can work on this sax on the side, or if you have a preferred tech to do the work for you, this sax can be restored to a great player again. It needs pads and material, springs, and cleaning, with a good regulation in the end.
Once done up, this will be a fun alto to play. The New Large Bore Selmers are always very nice instruments, with a more spread sound than you typically find on more modern horns, but they still retain that strong Selmer core and foundation. This sax is available at a bargain price, don't pass it up!
