This is a original lacquer Selmer Paris Mark VII tenor sax, serial number 265213. If you are looking for a great free blowing Selmer and do not want to drop the serious big bucks required of many vintage Selmers the Mark VII is a perfect way to go. This Mark VII is a particularly nice player and has an especially deep resonating core sound. The key action is nice and comfortable as you would expect from a Selmer. Its table keys are on the bigger side like many contemporary tenors which is fantastic if you have longer fingers. This sax does feature a high F# key.
The pictures tell the story of this horn the best regarding its looks. Not the prettiest but it does show off original lacquer with a dark honey color and also features crisp floral engraving. The body does show some history of repair but nothing serious. A few re-solders to lower key guard feet but no serious body damage or major repair. This sax includes the original Mark VII neck. The neck was pulled down in the past but has been brought back to its true position. This saxophone is currently being professionally set-up in the Saxquest shop and will soon be in perfect playing condition. Please check out the video.
