This is a great vintage King Zephyr tenor saxophone, serial number 47029. The King Zephyr has always been a natural work horse instrument. For this reason it is a little on the rare side to see one in such pretty condition. The body of the sax shows some typical cosmetic play wear but nothing serious. There is not history of any major past repairs and no re-solders. The original neck is with the horn and is also in great shape.
This sax has a powerful fat free blowing sound. It takes the air in quick and has extremely fast response to air flow. Because of the big sound and ease at which these tenors flourish in louder musical situations they are a favorite for the rock and R&B players. The King Zephyr is a fine choice for anyone in need of a reliable performance horn on a budget.
This saxophone is currently in the Saxquest shop being professionally set-up and will soon be in perfect playing condition. It will come to you set-up on nice leather pads and brown plastic resonators. The pads are all in good shape and have plenty of life left in them. The set will also include removing the smaller dings around the lower part of the body and bow. Saxophone does ship in original King hard case.
