This is a great example of a mid-50's vintage King Super 20 tenor sax, serial number 346715. This tenor is in all original lacquer and has recently been fully repadded too. If you are looking for a solid tenor that won't quit, you can't go wrong with this sax.
This is a great tenor for the regular gigging professional. Its a great road horn, but obviously hasn't been abused. The sax is straight physically. There looks to have been some minor past dent work in the bottom bow, and a couple minor dings removed from the neck, all just minor, regular work. The neck is the original sterling silver neck with matching serial number. It has the double socket receiver and underslung octave key.
This horn was recently completely repadded, using firm leather pads and brown plastic resonators. We are in the process of giving the sax a full pro regulation, opening the key heights and setting the spring tensions even throughout. It will ship in perfect adjustment and playing at the height of its abilities.
This sax has a full voice and is very free blowing from low Bb up into the altissimo. It plays with a lightning fast response and offers the player a lot of control. Obviously Super 20's are known for having a big sound, and this tenor doesn't let you down. Projection is great and it carries well even in a big loud venue. It does come in its original case, as seen in the photos.
