Product ID: 776637SelmerLimitedAlto
We've got one of the very limited edition Selmer Paris commemorative alto saxophones, made to celebrate the 130th anniversary of Selmer Paris and the 200th anniversary of the birth of Adolphe Sax. This one has serial number 776637, and is #275 of the limited run of these premium collector's instruments.
This alto has been completely redesigned from the other Selmers being made right now. The neck and octave key design was inspired by the vintage Selmer Modele 22. It has a pearl thumb rest and octave key spatula similar to the old Selmer Balanced Actions. The wire keyguards are reminiscent of the original Adolphe Sax instruments. This alto features pearl rollers, and nickel key touches instead of pearl, also as a throwback to the original Adolphe horns. As you can see in the photos, the special engraving is truly spectacular, and the matte silver plated finish, very vintage-like, is awesome.
With the horn, there are plenty of limited edition accessories and keepsakes. The included mouthpiece looks like it came out of the 20's, with a metal shank ring and is simply stamped “H. Selmer” on the table. The neck strap, swab, neck pouch, and end plug are all specially made for this alto. There is also an included DVD, and a certificate of authenticity.
There will not be very many of these special Selmer Limited Edition alto saxophones made. We thought seriously about keeping this one for our museum, but have decided to make it available for another serious collector out there. You don't want to let this one go, you won't see another!
