This is a 1930 vintage Buescher True Tone alto saxophone in original silver plate, serial number 258450. This is a very late vintage True Tone, coming just a couple years before the introduction of the Aristocrat. Unlike the earlier True Tone models, it does feature a front F key. This sax is in beautiful original condition and is priced to move.
As you can see in the photos, the original silver is tarnished, but in excellent shape overall. There is minor cosmetic finish wear on a few keys and touch points, and that's it. There are no dents or past dent work that I can see anywhere. I also see only one resoldered joint, on one foot of a lower body keyguard. The original neck is stamped with one stare (*) and it has never been pulled down or damaged.
This sax is currently sitting in old pads, still with original snap-in metal resonators. It will definitely need a repad before you can play it. With our repair shop backed up for months, we have decided to offer this horn as-is at a low price. If you have a repair bench at home, this is a pretty straight forward repad as the body is straight and it doesn't need a lot of extraneous work. Ships in its original hard case.
