This is a great earlier vintage Selmer Paris Mark VII series tenor sax, serial number 260277. This is a good early model which still features the floral engraving on the bell. This tenor hasn't seen a lot of playing in its life and is in fantastic physical shape.
The original lacquer is a solid 95%+ on this horn, with only minor wear that comes with age. The sax shows no history of dent repair and only one resoldered joint on one foot of the low C keyguard. The bottom bow, bell flare, and bell-to-body brace are all perfect. The original neck did have a minor pull-down in the past which is being corrected in our repair shop.
This sax came to us in all original pads, so we are going to do this one right. The price includes our full pro restoration. We will take it apart, clean it, and replace all of the pads and corks. Stay tuned for some new photos once this work has been completed, it will be all shiny and new looking again!
I played this tenor just before it went over to our repair shop for the work, and it is a nice horn with a strong core. It plays with a tight focus and definitive warmer color to its tone. The focus and solid foundation makes the altissimo register especially pop effortlessly. A fantastic top-shelf pro tenor for anyone looking for a Selmer Paris at a reasonable price. Ships in its original case.
