This is hands down one very excellent player. Selmer Paris Reference 54 alto saxophone, serial number 658132. In addition to being an outstanding player it is also in beautiful condition. The dark honey lacquer looks exquisite and its engraving clean and crisp. The sax has no history of any major past repair and the physical body is perfect. Absolutely no past damages or re-solders. It also includes the original neck is perfect condition. Saxophone does feature a high F# key.
The Reference altos are one of the most popular professional modern saxophones being made today. They are manufactured in tribute to the Selmer Mark VI models which were first released in 1954. The sound on the Reference is dark and free blowing. Response and sonic balance from end to end on this saxophone is exceptional. The lower register is very rich and the sound stays full and resonant even into the extended register. This alto does not thin out in the palm keys. Because of the great balance on the sax intonation and control is outstanding.
Saxquest is currently in the process of setting the Saxophone up and it ships in perfect condition. It features a nice set of leather pads and brown plastic resonators. This is an outstanding instrument for players who have to cover a wide variety of genres. Brand new these instruments sell upwards of $7,000.
