Saxquest is honored to be a part of and help sponsor SAXFEST! 2015. Organized by Christopher Braig and hosted by Music at Meramec, Saxfest presents a day of clinics, masterclasses and performances by some of the regions top educators and performers. If you love the saxophone, this is a must attend event. All levels of player will benefit from the event!! Even if you can’t attend the entire day, stop by for as long as you can……. and the best part – its totally FREE and open to the public!!!

WHEN – THIS Saturday – July 18 from 11am-4:30pm

This will be an intensive day of saxophone study and an incredibly rare opportunity to learn from and interact with some of the regions finest and most seasoned players. The roster of presenters for Saxfest is INSANE!!!

You’ll hear from Arthur White, Associate Professor of Saxophone and Jazz at MIZZOU, on “Fundamentals for all Saxophonists”; Jason Swagler, Associate Professor of Saxophone and Jazz at SIUE, on “Hearing What you Play, Developing an Aural Connection with the Saxophone”; Mark Overton, owner of Saxquest, on “An Interactive History of the Saxophone”; and Paul DeMarinis, Director of Jazz Studies and Professor of Saxophone at Webster University, on “Waking up to the Instrument”. You will also hear a classical saxophone quartet with Jeff Collins (St. Louis Symphony Orchestra saxophonist), Ben Reece, Derick Tramel and Mark Overton, an incredible unaccompanied jazz saxophone duet by Ben Reece and Jason Swagler, as well as jazz performances by Christopher Braig, Paul DeMarinis, Arthur White and Jason Swagler with an all star rhythm section consisting of Willem von Hombracht, Steve Davis and Steve Schenkel.
